1. Synthesis, reduction, epoxidation & condensation reactions of cinnamic acid and derivatives

4.Drug/herb utilization and safety issues: This involves surveys on the use of allopathic drugs and herbal medicines in various populations including university communities, ambulatory hypertensive patients and pregnant women. The perceptions, attitudes, suitability and level of use of herbal medicines alone and with allopathic agents among these groups of respondents have been extensively evaluated. The level of knowledge of two important groups of health care workers, pharmacist and physicians, whom the patients come in contact with regularly on their drug use were also evaluated. Toxicity evaluation, drug/herb interaction and some formulation studies of some of the herbs are also done in animal models and human volunteers.
5.Evaluation of herbs: This involves the in vitro and in vivo screening of the biological activities of some selected plants used by some of the patients which are available in Nigeria using animal models
