Philip Adegboyega Idowu, Ph.D. is presently the Coordinator of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He obtained from University of Ibadan, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.)degree in 1992; M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Microbiology in 1997 and joined the lecturing staff in 1998. He obtained his Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Microbiology in 2012 and a diploma degree in 2014 in Drug Discovery, Development and Production (DDDP) of Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan.
Dr. Idowu teaches Pharmaceutical Microbiology at Undergraduate ad Postgraduate levels in University of Ibadan, and co-supervises microbiology projects of LAUTECH students. His research interests include: isolation and characterisation of antimicrobial agentsand disinfectants on multidrug resistant pathogens; resistance studies; and evaluation of products for microbiology quality. He has many publications in these areas.
Dr. Idowu is a registered Pharmacist with Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), member of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and National Association of Pharmacists in Academia. He had various experiences in production, hospital and community pharmacy.
