Professor Kolawole Timothy Jaiyeoba was born sixty years ago. He obtained the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy with distinction and Prize for best performance in Pharmaceutics in 1974 after which he obtained the Master of Philosophy degree in 1977. He obtained the Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1979 in the University of Manchester in U.K. he began a lecturing career at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Obafemi Awolowo University in 1977 and joined the University of Ibadan in 1982 as Senior Lecturer making him one of the pioneer staff of the then new Pharmacy program. He became the first Sub Dean (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He was promoted to the grade of Professor in 1991 and has held positions of Head of Department and Dean Faculty at various times.

Professor Jaiyeoba has been a recipient of many academic and professional awards and grants in the course of his career. Including the award of excellence in recognition of his immense contribution to pharmacy program and University Education by the Nigerian association of academic Pharmacist. He served on the National Accreditation Board of Ghana as accreditation expert and as member of expert committee on the West African Health Organization for harmonization of Pharmacy Curriculum across the West African Sub-region.

His areas of specialization include Drug Delivery systems, Drug Stability and raw materials research and he has published many journal articles and book chapters in his field. Professor K.T Jaiyeoba was appointed Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo in October 2010.

Professor Jaiyeoba is a Priest of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and was preferred a Reverend Canon in September 2010. He is also a Philanthropist who has contributed significantly to the growth of the Church, Institutions, Individuals and society. He is married to Dr (Mrs) Adebola Jaiyeoba, and the marriage is blessed with four children, including one alumnus of this Faculty.
